Note

I've settled on a post-Skins project and decided to go with Popular. It has a convenient number of episodes and I still feel strongly about the show, even though the pop cultural references will seem horribly dated by now (which might just be part of the fun, we'll see).

Awww, I was hoping you'd do My So-Called Life :-(

I loved reading your entries, and based on what I've read you love about Skins, I think you'd really like the show if you haven't seen it already.

Oh, completely forgot about that! Yeah, I think I can do both? I just have to work out a schedule. Both shows share some of the things I love about Skins, and doing both might actually be really interesting, considering they use completely different styles (authenticity vs. camp). Thanks for the suggestion!!

You know I was thinking I guess I have to watch this show. I checked the promo and it was so weird all these memories kept coming. Not exactly about what this is about but I'm familiar with these girls and another shorter girl and feel as though I must have seen a episode or some and probably just blocked it out or something. i enjoy this cause I know as a kid of the 90s I most likely sat through a lot of shows and don't realize which until someone brings something up again.

I don't think a lot of people actually saw the show when it was on... for some reason, it was on Austrian TV on Saturday afternoons (when I was about fourteen or fifteen?). I rewatched it a couple of years ago and thought that the general theme (characters that start out as stereotypes and are then fleshed out, looking beyond the surface etc) holds up fairly well, even though some of the more shallow stuff doesn't (but I can't wait to see what kind of horrid pop cultural memories this will evoke). Also, Carly Pope.
