GUYS...

This one screencap alone deserves an essay.

I would love to read it. Seriously. Your thoughts are so fun on this stuff.

It's gonna be part of the big review (Sunday or Monday, I hope) but it's incredible how one screencap encapsulates so many of my thoughts on their relationship. THE MIRRORS (they're both pretending to be normal - a lotta walls, but also a lot of mirrors for such a small room!)? The domesticity of the scene? The fact that Kate is literally removing her "mask"? Betty putting all her feelings into knitting (there is a pile of wool and unfinished sweaters on that bed!). This show is ridiculous.

I will await it eagerly! Although it does remind me I do have knitting to do... which should give me something to do while I wait.

Just don't let it get out of hand to the point where you've done so much aggressive knitting that you need new needles!! :)

I'm curious, what;s your opinion/take on Kate wearing Betty's clothes during Roses Red? (Including her pants!)

Wow, good catch! I totally missed that.
Just practically, I think Kate wouldn't have returned to her father's trailer, so she probably doesn't have a lot of clothes of her own (but why not ask Gladys, who certainly has an abundance of clothes?) It fits in well with "playing normal" as well, because that's just what friends do, isn't it, borrowing clothes? And it's exactly the kind of subtle intimacy (domesticity too) they share.
