PopCandy pointed out that the insanely creative Miranda July, director of "Me and You and Everyone we Know", has shot a video for one of my favourite bands, Blonde Redhead. Let's just say that the beautiful singing voice matches the video perfectly - interestingly enough, the video for "Get Up" also fit the voice of Corin Tucker, which only shows July's versatility. Oh, Sleater-Kinney.

July has also written a book recently. It's a collection of short stories called "No One Belongs Here More Than You" which features the same topics the movie did: love, obsession and weird stuff. I think I'll maybe buy it and compare it to A.L. Kennedy's "Original Bliss", which is one of my favourite collection of short stories ever.

ja, coole videos, der film war auch gut!
blonde redhead: irgendwie auch eine meiner lieblingsbands, da sie auf jeder platte 2-4 wirklich überragende songs haben. aber eine ganze cd komplett durchzuhören ist mir nicht möglich, da fehlt etwas oder ist zuviel, je nachdem... (ganz ähnlich ging es mir immer bei sonic youth) naja, liegt vielleicht eher an mir als an blonde redhead. grüße :-)
Nein, das mit dem Durchhören stimmt schon. Sowohl Blonde Redhead als auch Sonic Youth sind für mich eher Soundtapete als bewusst und konzentriert zuhören - dafür sind sie perfekt fürs Mitnehmen, fürs Zug- und Busfahren etc. Ich finde, ihre Musik "trägt" den Hörer ein bisschen.
