Nach Medienberichten einigten sich Washington und Moskau darauf, die Zahl der nuklearen Sprengköpfe von je 2200 auf je 1550 zu senken. Die Zahl der Trägersysteme wird demnach auf jeweils 800 halbiert. Das Abkommen muss von den Parlamenten beider Staaten ratifiziert werden, bevor es in Kraft tritt."
